I would not recommend dying black hair, but definitely highlights. Your beautician could help you with a choice of color for highlights, but do go with 2 colors for your highlights not 1 (it looks more natural) :)

regular hair color can not lift black, so you'd have to have your hair color lifted first, I'd sugest getting highlights. Maybe even dying it a soft brown with caramel hightlights. Be sure to deep condition your hair often after you've had it treated especially if you have it lifted.

Red highlights look really pretty in dark/black hair. You could always go with that as well. Or even do red %26amp; caramel highlights.
